Description
Research areas
What kind of life do molecules have and how do chemical reactions take place?
Laboratory Corresponding Member RAS, V.P.Ananikova for the first time opened the interdisciplinary research project “Molecular complexity and transformations” (Molecular complexity and transformations). Research interests: catalysis, organic synthesis, nanotechnology, graphene, photochemistry, molecular modeling, organic and physical chemistry.
An important direction of the work of the laboratory is the creation of an integrated methodology for the experimental and theoretical study of the catalytic functionalization of organic molecules and the development of new methods in organic chemistry.
Effective application of the studied processes is associated with fine organic synthesis - an area with a remarkable history of development in Russia. The contribution of national science to this field is widely recognized in the world thanks to the work of such eminent scientists as A.E. Favorsky, N.D. Zelinsky, M.G. Kucherov, I.N. Nazarov. Currently, this area remains one of the few areas of chemical science, which maintains a high level and priority of Russian scientists.
