Description
Research areas
The technology of processing the simplest natural raw materials (carbon dioxide, acetylene, isoprenoids, cellulose) and the waste of the heavy chemical industry (chloroaromatic compounds, hydrogen fluoride, nitro compounds).
Synthesis of analogs and intermediates of natural compounds of the heterocyclic series (five- and six-membered nitrogenous heterocycles) and isoprenoids based on original technologies using high pressure and temperatures, gaseous acetylene and ammonia, hydrogenation on heterogeneous catalysts.
Main results
A constantly updated collection of chemical compounds (more than 150,000) has been created for screening for certain types of anticancer activity in the original test systems.
Databases (NMR, mass, and IR spectra) and technology for the rapid structural search of molecules in the chemical literature and commercial databases have been developed.
Scientific and technical developments of the laboratory are used by more than 150 firms, including the world's leading chemical companies: Glaxo, BASF, Bayer, Novartis, NovoNordisk, DuPont, Astra Zeneca, Pfizer, etc.
