During the period of lowering the outdoor temperature, the need for electricity consumption increases sharply, but the electrical wiring in houses is designed for a certain load. With the simultaneous inclusion of energy-intensive consumers (electric heaters, kettles, washing machines), not only the electrical wiring in the apartment, but also in the entrance and even in the whole house can fail.
Severe frost blizzards can cause trees to fall on poles, power lines, break wires overhead lines, which is unsafe for all living things. A broken electrical wire in contact with the ground creates an emergency operation of the electrical installation. If you notice a malfunction in the electrical network (wire breaks, sparking, damage to poles, insulators, open or damaged doors of transformer substations), you must immediately report.
In order to avoid cases with serious consequences, it is impossible:
- touch the wires, sagging or lying on the ground, discard them with your hand, random objects. It is deadly dangerous not only to touch, but also to be within a radius closer than 8-10 m from the lying wire, in the zone of step voltage. In case of falling under step voltage, it is necessary not to lose self-control and get out of the action zone by jumping on one leg or on two closed legs to a safe distance away from the lying wire;
- penetrate into transformer substations, switchgear, open power shields, assemblies, open and remove fences.
Only the knowledge and implementation of simple electrical safety rules, as well as the observance of the simplest precautions, will help prevent the possibility of injury and save lives.
Electrical safety at the enterprise is one of the most important sections of labor protection. This is due to the fact that today, to one degree or another, employees of almost every enterprise are in contact with electrical appliances, including high power ones. In turn, this means that ensuring electrical safety is not a highly specialized task of organizations engaged in specific activities, but a general requirement for the operation of enterprises of various profiles and scales.
Thus, the issue of ensuring electrical safety in the company should be considered primarily in a practical way, that is, through the prism of a set of measures that can solve the problem. In particular, among the most enlarged categories of measures included in this complex, the following are usually distinguished:
- technical ways to protect personnel from the effects of electric current in the course of the implementation of job duties;
- constructive measures to protect the employees of the enterprise, provided by the manufacturer of the electrical equipment used;
- ensuring the protection of buildings and structures from electric shock from various sources, including protection against lightning;
- organizational measures to ensure the safety of work with the use of electrical equipment.
From the above list, it becomes clear that the scope of the set of measures included in the company's electrical safety system directly depends on the type of its activity and the nature of the equipment used.
