In Russia, created a fully biodegradable plastic. It is so safe that it can be eaten.
Russian scientists have come up with a completely degradable polymer consisting of their starch. It is absolutely safe for nature. If desired, disposable glasses and plates can even be eaten after use for its intended purpose.
The inventors were researchers from the South Ural State University. To create the polymer, they used ordinary starch - potato or grain. It is subjected to special ultrasonic treatment.
A variety of films can be made from a biopolymer, which scientists suggest using for the manufacture of bags, disposable tableware, packaging, and a cover for medicines.
At the same time, it is expected that bio-packages will cost 10-15 percent cheaper than conventional plastic.м
