Description
Engineering and environmental studies are carried out to analyze the current state and forecast the likely changes in the environment under the influence of anthropogenic and man-made factors in order to minimize or eliminate adverse environmental consequences.
When setting tasks for engineering and environmental surveys, the determining factors are: the specifics of natural conditions, the type and nature of the impacts, etc.
Engineering and environmental surveys can be implemented both in the form of individual works and studies, and in combination with other types of surveys (engineering and hydrometeorological, engineering and geological, engineering and geodetic).
Engineering and environmental studies are carried out in several stages, which include: field studies, laboratory measurements, data processing, preparation of reporting technical documentation.
The composition of engineering and environmental survey:
collection and processing of research materials of past years;
route observations of the natural environment and landscapes, the state of terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems (reconnaissance survey);
excavation of mine workings to determine the distribution of pollution;
identification of sources of air pollution, soil, soil, surface and groundwater;
radiation studies;
ecological and hydrogeological studies;
drawing up a technical report.
According to the results of engineering and environmental surveys:
an assessment of the ecological state of the environment is given for the project preparation period, including an assessment of chemical pollution of atmospheric air, soil, soil, groundwater and surface water;
a forecast is made of possible changes in the environmental conditions of the territory during the implementation of the planned decisions;
proposals and recommendations on the organization of environmental protection measures and environmental monitoring of the environment are being developed.
